SEA Program Overview

During the Self Employment Agreement period, participants receive assistance and support through two phases:

  1. Business development and planning Weeks (10 weeks)
  2. Business implementation (42 weeks)
Business Development Phase

The Business Development Phase lasts a maximum of 10 weeks. Through workshops and seminars SEA provides participants with information to help them think through their business ideas, research all aspects of running their business and to write an effective business plan. This business plan should act as a road map during the implementation and operation of the business.

Participants who provide a completed business plan continue on to the Business Implementation Phase of the SEA program.

Business Implementation

The Business implementation phase focuses on the start-up and operation of the business. Throughout this phase participants can access ongoing support to help them through this crucial stage.

Participants continue to attend regular group networking meetings and workshops designed to help them on a practical level meet the challenges of starting and running their business.
